Kileel Developments Ltd. was established by its president and CEO, John Kileel, in 1978. Kileel Developments, along with its subsidiary companies, has been an active developer in the City of Fredericton in both the commercial and residential sectors.
Kileel Developments Ltd. and its subsidiaries were the developers of the Frederick Square Office Complex, McGinnis Landing Restaurant (formerly the Keg Restaurant) and Windsor Townhouses, as well as owner/operator of the Hilltop Grill & Beverage Co. a successful and well-known local restaurant for the past 30 years.
In 1990 Kileel Developments Ltd. developed, owned and operated one of the largest four-star hotel/convention centres in New Brunswick. In 1998, the Sheraton Fredericton Hotel had the distinct honour of being named ‘Hotel of the Year’ at the ITT Sheraton National Owners and Operators Conference in New Orleans. Excelling in seven different areas, the Sheraton Fredericton challenged and surpassed 150 competing Sheraton Hotels across North America. It also won ‘Inn of the Year’ and ‘Employer of the Year’ awards in 1996. Later on in 1998 at the peak of the real estate cycle for hotels, John Kileel sold the Sheraton Fredericton to a Canadian Real Estate Trust.
